Christmas Wreath Craft For Kids
Christmas is such a magical time of the year, especially when you have little ones at home. One of my favorite ways to get into the holiday spirit is by doing simple and fun Christmas crafts with my kids.
Last year, we discovered an easy and cute project: a Christmas wreath made from paper straws and beads. It's perfect for kids of all ages and adds a sweet and festive touch to your holiday decor. Let me walk you through how to make this easy Christmas craft.
What You Need:
- Paper Christmas straws (you can find these at most craft stores)
- Christmas beads (red, green, gold, or any festive colors you like)
- Elastic string
- Pipe cleaners
- Ribbon (for the bow)
- Scissors
Steps to Make Your Christmas Wreath:
Prepare the Straws:
- Start by cutting the paper Christmas straws into small pieces. Each piece should be about an inch long. My kids loved helping with this part because it's so easy and fun!
- Take your pipe cleaner and start threading the pieces of straw onto it. Alternate each piece of straw with a Christmas bead. This creates a beautiful, festive pattern.
- Once you have enough straws and beads threaded to form a circle, twist the ends of the pipe cleaner together.
- Loop a piece of elastic and tie it to the wreath. This will become the loop for hanging your decoration.
Add Ribbon:
- Take a piece of ribbon and tie a bow at the top of your wreath to hide the join in the pipe cleaner. this adds a lovely finishing touch and makes the wreath look even more festive.
Why We Love This Craft:
This Christmas wreath craft is perfect for kids because it’s simple and doesn’t require any special skills or materials. It’s a wonderful way to spend some quality time together during the holiday season. Plus, the finished wreaths are so cute and can be used to decorate your home in so many ways.
My kids liked deciding where to hang their finished wreaths – on the tree, on their bedroom doors, and even on their backpacks! They felt so proud of their creations, and it was heartwarming to see their faces light up as they admired their work. It's these little moments that make the holidays truly special.
I hope you and your family enjoy making these Christmas wreaths as much as we did. Happy crafting and Merry Christmas!
