Memorial Day is a time to remember and honor those who have died in service to our country. It's also a time for celebration and fun with family and friends. There are many ways to enjoy Memorial Day weekend, but one of our favorites is playing games.

Family Memorial Day Games

Frisbee Golf

Frisbee golf is a fun and active game that is perfect for Memorial Day gatherings. The game is played with two teams of two players each, and the objective is to throw Frisbees into baskets or targets scattered around the playing area. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Horseshoes

Horseshoes is a classic lawn game that is perfect for Memorial Day gatherings. The game is played with two teams of two players each, and the objective is to throw horseshoes at stakes in the ground, trying to get them as close to the stake as possible. Badminton

One of our all-time favorite Memorial Day games is badminton. Whether you have a backyard or not, badminton is a great game to play with friends and family. If you don't have a net, no problem! You can easily make one out of string and two broomsticks. This game is perfect for all ages and skill levels.

Cornhole

This classic lawn game is perfect for groups of all sizes. It is also known as bean bag toss or sack race. All you need for this game is two boards with a hole in each, and four bean bags (two for each team). The object of the game is to throw the bean bags through the holes in the boards. The team that scores the most points wins!

Ladder Toss

Ladder toss is similar to cornhole, but instead of bean bags, players throw bolas (two balls connected by a string) at a ladder-shaped target. The object of the game is to wrap the bolas around one of the rungs of the ladder. Like cornhole, the first player or team to reach 21 points wins!

Charades

If you're looking for a game that the whole family can enjoy, try playing charades. This classic party game is always a hit with kids and adults alike. To play, each person takes turns acting out a scene from a movie, TV show, or book without speaking. The other players have to guess what the scene is. This game is great for large groups and is sure to get everyone laughing!

Balloon Relay Race

Divide the kids into teams and have them line up. The first player on each team must blow up a balloon and then pass it to the next player in line, who must then do the same. The team that blows up all of their balloons first wins!

Water Balloon Toss

This one is sure to be a hit with the kids and perfect for hot summer days. Divide them into teams of two and have them stand about 10 feet apart from each other. Each team will need one water balloon. The goal is to toss the balloon back and forth to each other without dropping it. If the balloon breaks, that team is out! The team that can keep their water balloon intact for the longest amount of time wins!

Red Light, Green light

This classic game is always a good time! To play, one person is chosen to be the "traffic light." That person stands at one end of the playing area, while everyone else lines up at the other end. When the traffic light says "green light," everyone can move toward the traffic light. But when the traffic light says "red light," everyone must stop in their tracks! The first person to reach the traffic light wins!
