What is a Gratitude Scavenger Hunt?

A gratitude scavenger hunt is, simply put, is a game in which players have to find things that they're grateful for. The items on the list can be big or small, but they should all be things that elicit a feeling of gratitude in the player. For example, some items on the list might be "a best friend," "a pet," or "a comfortable bed." Other items might be more specific, like "a toy from when you were a kid" or "a sunset."

How to Play the Gratitude Scavenger Hunt

The beauty of the gratitude scavenger hunt is that it can be played anywhere and by anyone. All you need is a group of people and a list of things to look for. To make things even easier, we've put together a list of some things to look for during your scavenger hunt. Feel free to use the list below as-is or mix and match items to suit your group's needs and interests.

Once everyone has had a chance to find an item on the list, take a few minutes as a group to share what you've found. You might be surprised at how much everyone has to be grateful for!

  • Encourage them to be specific and share why they are grateful for each thing.
  • Encourage them to share their gratitude journal with you, or someone else they trust.
