Strike!

This game is perfect for older kids who are already fairly good at bowling. To play, simply bowl as usual. However, if you get a strike (all ten pins down in one turn), you get to choose one other player to perform a challenge, for example have them do 10 push-ups!

Waiting Challenge

Sometimes kids get bored waiting for their turn to bowl so you can set up some challenges for them to do while they wait. The challenges must be performed and completed before the person who is bowling has finished their turn. These challenges might be things like;

  • Say the alphabet backwards
  • Do 10 push-ups
  • Name 20 pizza toppings

Even or Odd

This game is perfect for those who are just starting to learn how to bowl. To play, simply keep track of the number of pins knocked down on each turn. If the number is even, the player gets a point. If the number is odd, the other team gets a point. The team with the most points at the end of the game, wins!

Another way to play this game is before each turn, have each player try to guess whether their score will be odd or even. If they guess correctly they earn a point. Whoever has the most points at the end of the game is the winner.

Match the pairs

In this game, players take a playing card before each turn (or take 2 cards depending on the amount of people playing) Keep the cards secret and do not show anyone your cards. The aim of the game is to collect the most pairs. After taking a card and before bowling, you can choose to keep the card or trade it with someone else. If you choose to trade, select someone you want to trade with and you will both swap one card.

If playing this with adults, you can turn this into Card Poker. Instead of trading cards, each player takes the top card from the deck before they bowl. Once everyone has selected 5 cards, turn them over and see who has the best poker hand.

The first person to get five in a row wins.
