Throw your kiddos a wild and crazy jungle, safari or zoo themed party! Whether your kids are into animals, exploration, or both, these party games will be sure to keep them entertained! Get ready to make some monkey noises and have a roaring good time.
Jungle Party Games
A jungle party is the perfect way to let your wild side shine! From a Jungle Dance off to a fun game of Jungle Scavenger Hunt, you'll be sure to find activities that will liven up any gathering. For an extra touch of fun, why not organize some Karaoke Sing Alongs featuring favorites from Disney movies like The Lion King and Madagascar. Add some decorations such as leaves and vines, and you're ready for a no-holds-barred adventure!
Before the party, write up some animals on pieces of paper and place them in a hat. Then during the party, divide your guests into teams and have them take turns drawing out an animal name and performing charades until their team guesses correctly. The team with the most correct animal charade guesses wins!
Explorer Relay Race
At the start of the race, give each kid a plastic bucket. Then they have to run around the “jungle” obstacle course you set up. After they reach their destination, they must find a treasure chest filled with plastic coins or gems and put one into their bucket before running back towards the starting line and passing the bucket to the next person in their team. The game continues until the time runs out. Whichever team has the most gems and coins will be the winners.
Jungle Scavenger Hunt
Create a list of jungle-themed items that need to be found (example: 5 different leaves). Divide your guests into teams or have them compete individually if you prefer. Each team/person gets the same list of items they must find within fifteen minutes or however long you decide. Whoever collects all of their items first wins!
What Animal am I?
Write out some jungle animals onto pieces of paper. Then tape one of these to each player's back. They must now walk around the party and ask yes or no questions in order to figure out what animal they are. The player who guesses correctly first wins!
Put on some jungle music and have your guests compete in a dance-off. Have each guest do their best moves while everyone else cheers them on. At the end of the song, the winner can be chosen by who got the most applause. The winner will receive a prize (like a jungle-themed sticker book or a stuffed animal).
This game is a favorite especially with younger players. Hide some small stuffed or plastic animals around the party area and have the kids search for them. Or you can put the toy animal into a cute jungle themed bag for the kids to find. Let the kids go and run around to see how many prizes can find.
Jungle Relay Races
Have everyone line up into two teams and pick one person to be the 'jungle master'. The first person in each team must run to the finish line and back and tag the next player. The catch is that at any time, the Jungle Master can call out an animal and the players running must start acting like the animal that was called out. For example, if they call out 'snake' then the players running must drop to the ground and try to get to the finish line whilst slithering like a snake. If the Jungle Master calls out 'Zebra' then the players running at the time must start galloping like a Zebra.
Catch the Tiger's Tail
Have all players join hands and stand in a line. The person at the front of the line will be the tiger's head and the person at the end will be the tiger's tail. The object of the game is for the person who is the tiger's head to tag the person who is the tiger's tail. The catch is that you are not allowed to let go of each other's hands. This game requires some skill and coordination! The person who is the Tiger's tail must try to avoid being tagged by evading the tiger's head. Once they are tagged, they become the new tiger's head.
Jungle Hula Hoop Race
Divide your guests into teams or have them compete individually. Give each player a hula hoop and have them try to keep the hula hoop on their waist the longest. The player who makes it the longest without dropping their hula hoop wins!
Jungle Matching Game
Write out a series of jungle-themed words (example: Tiger, Elephant, Monkey) on individual pieces of paper. Make sure to write each word on two pieces of paper. When the game starts each player must try to act out the animal written on their paper and try to find another player acting out the same animal. Players are not allowed to talk, they must use gestures actions to find their match.
Monkey See, Monkey Do
Divide your guests into teams of two. One person will be the monkey and the other will be the leader. The objective of this game is for the leader to give commands to the monkey and for the monkey to copy the leader as accurately as possible.
Feed the Lion
Draw an image of a lion onto a large piece of cardboard and cut out a hole for the lion's mouth. Then hang this up in a tree. Each player will to throw three bean bags at the lion trying to get the bean bags into the lion's mouth.
