To add an extra layer of suspense, play eerie sound effects in the background to intensify the atmosphere.

Witch's Potion Relay Race

Divide the party attendees into teams and set up a relay race that involves witch's potion. Each team will have a cauldron filled with slime and some creepy ingredients such as fake spiders and toy snakes. One at a time, each member is told which item they must retrieve from their team's cauldron.

They must put their hand into the cauldron, feel around and pull out the named item. If they pull out the wrong item, their team will loose 1 point. If they are the first person to correctly retrieve their item, their team will gain 2 points. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Spooky Scavenger Hunt

Create a thrilling scavenger hunt with a spooky twist. Hide Halloween-themed objects around your party venue or in a nearby location. Set up clues and riddles that lead participants from one location to another, with each clue revealing the next hiding spot.

To add an element of fear, incorporate dim lighting or eerie decorations throughout the hunt. The team or individual who successfully finds all the items within a given time frame wins the game.

Scary Stories

At your Halloween party, try telling scary stories. On index cards, write lines that would sound good in a scary story. Then, in a darkened room, people take turns drawing an index card and making up a scary story based on the one line from their index card. As each person draws a card, they build on the story that the partygoer before them told.

Scary Scene

This next Halloween party game would be better suited to adults and teenagers. Gather a bunch of props - fake blood, fake weapons, plastic skeletons, etc. Divide the props between two groups and have each team create the scariest scene possible. Killer Instinct

'Killer instinct' is a Halloween variation on hide and seek. Whoever is "it" is the killer, and as they find people they "kill" them. Once you've been killed you have to go to the cemetery, a designated room in the house and wait until the round is over. You could also turn into a ghost and help the 'killer' to find the rest of the players.

Zombie Freeze Dance

Put a ghoulish spin on the classic game of freeze dance by turning your participants into zombies. When the music plays, everyone dances like the undead, with stiff movements and vacant stares.

As soon as the music stops, everyone must freeze in their zombie poses. Anyone caught moving or showing signs of life is out. The last remaining zombie standing becomes the winner. Enhance the eerie ambiance by playing haunting tunes and decorating the dance area like a graveyard.

Halloween Makeover

Halloween Makeovers can be such a fun Halloween game. Divide your party guests into small groups, and give each one a bag of makeup and face paint. One member of each team will be given a makeover. You can decide who will win this game. It could be for the worst makeover, scariest makeover or the most professional. It is best to set a time limit for this game.

Have your party guests sit in a circle. One person is the witch, and everyone else draws one bat from the cauldron. The witch tries to guess the color on each bat. Each player gets a turn as the witch, and whoever has the most correct guesses is the witch.
